From Monday, February 25th 2019 through March 3 2019 the Cobourg Police Service responded to 206 Occurrence’s including; 9- 911 calls, 8 Alarm Calls, 1 Animal Complaint calls, 8 Assault calls, 2 Attempt threat/suicide call, 2 Break and enter calls, 2 Bail violations calls, 28 Community services events calls, 1 Court order call, 2 Dangerous conditions calls, 2 Disturb the peace calls, 4 Domestic dispute calls, 1 Drug offence call, 2 Family dispute calls, 4 Fraud calls, 3 Impaired driver calls, 4 Mental health calls, 3 Mischief calls, 1 Missing persons call, 14 Motor vehicle collision calls, 3 Noise complaint calls, 3 Person wellbeing calls, 19 Police assistance calls, 7 Police information calls, 3 Property related calls, 2 Shoplift calls, 1 Stolen vehicle call, 2 Sudden death call, 5 Suspicious persons calls, 6 theft calls, 1 Threats call, 10 Traffic complaint calls, 2 Trouble with youth calls, and 1 Unwanted person call. Here are some examples of calls for service this week.

25 February 2019

– Police conducted an investigation involving allegations of Domestic assault. Through investigation, Police subsequently arrested and charged an adult with assault and Utter Death threat, who was held for a bail hearing

– Police attended a local residence in regards to people yelling outside and causing a disturbance. Upon arrival all parties left the scene.

26 February 2019

– While on Patrol Cobourg Police assisted the Port Hope Police in arresting 4 parties during a drug transaction at a local residence. The parties were processed at the Cobourg Police Station and released with Promise to Appears for a later court date.

27 February 2019

– Police responded to a residence to local store in regards to a citizen purchasing over $10000 dollars in google cards. The citizen provided all the google cards information to an online scam. The citizen was provided information from the Cobourg Police in regards to online scams.

– Police responded to a local business in regards to personal belongings being stolen out of an unlocked vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was provided information on how to prevent this from happening again.

28 February 2019

– Police responded to a threats call in regards to two parties involving text messages. Through investigation it was revealed that the text messages were not threats as defined in the Criminal Code. All parties cautioned to communicated through a third party

– Police attended a residence for a report of a sudden death.
1 March 2019

– Police responded to a local school for a report of an assault. It was determined that two individuals were possibly involved in a physical altercation. No threats or injuries reported. Both parties did not want to speak with Police

– An individual attended the Cobourg police Station to speak with Officers regarding ongoing unwanted communication from another individual. It was determined that were no allegations of any threats. Police provided advice in the matter

2 March 2019

– Police were dispatched to the west part of town for a report of an impaired driver operating a motor vehicle. The individual was seen driving erratically appearing to be intoxicated and was last seen travelling south bound on William Street. Police searched the area and located the vehicle. The driver was not impaired and was cautioned in regards to their driving.

– Police attended a local residence in regards to a person in crisis. On scene the person was extremely intoxicated and was transported to the Northumberland Hills Hospital to be assessed by a Doctor.

– Police located a stolen vehicle at a local Motel. The driver was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Drive while Under Suspension. The driver was released on a Promise to Appear with a later court date.

3 March 2019

– Police attended a local business for a report of shoplifter. Police identified the individual involved, who was subsequently arrested and released with an Appearance Notice with a later court date.

– Police attended a local residence in regards to a complaint of a child being grabbed by their arm at a local business. The father of the child advised Police that the child was going to run into traffic. The father advised Police he grabbed his child’s arms for the child’s safety.
