MNRF – $750 Fine for Trapping without a Licence
A Parham area resident has been fined for an offence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.
Robbie Clow pleaded guilty and was fined $750 for unlawfully trapping fur-bearing mammals without a valid licence. Five fisher pelts seized during the investigation were permanently forfeited to the Crown.
Court heard that on March 16, 2018, conservation officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry carried out an inspection of Clow’s trapping operation and determined he had trapped five fisher prior to renewing his trapping licence, which had expired.
Justice of the Peace Deanne Chapelle heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Kingston, on June 25, 2018.
