City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision
(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – At approximately 4:15 a.m. on June 17, 2018, members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 9-1-1 call in Carden Township.
Initial investigation indicated that Lucas DUNLOP, 19-years-old, of Sebright, had been struck by a vehicle in the Ramara Township area and had subsequently died of his injuries. The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, under the direction of Detective Inspector Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. A post mortem is scheduled for Monday, June 18, 2018.
