UPDATE
Weapon Seen, Suspect Arrested
(BRIGHTON, ON) -On June 13, 2018 at 9:35 a.m. the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence near the south end of Brighton.
Witnesses reported that a male entered a home brandishing what appeared to be a hand gun. Prior to police arrival the suspect had fled on foot. Once officers arrived on scene a suspect search was conducted with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT). Local area schools were placed on a hold and secure protocol during that time.
Dylan Myles Blaker of no fixed address was arrested and charged with the following offences:
There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
This investigation is still ongoing and is being led by the Northumberland Crime Unit. More information will follow when it becomes available and deemed appropriate for release.

Once officers arrived on scene a suspect search was conducted with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (E.R.T) and members of Quinte West OPP. Local area schools were placed on a hold and secure protocol during that time.
A male matching the description was located nearby; he was arrested and is currently under investigation.
The OPP K9 unit have completed an evidence search of the area. A stop train order was in effect during that time but has since been lifted.
There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
This ongoing investigation is being led by the Northumberland Crime Unit. More information will follow when it becomes available and deemed appropriate for release.
