Cobourg Kodiaks Acquire Player from Peterborough Lakers

The Cobourg Kodiaks have acquired a pair of highly skilled players from the Peterborough Lakers.
Nick Finlay, Kyle Killen, and Peterborough’s 2019 1st round pick were acquired for the playing rights to Corey Small.
Kodiaks GM, John Webb, stated that although Small is a great player who had a stellar career in the NLL and WLA, he was excited to be able to get two young very talented players who can step into the Kodiaks lineup and contribute right away. “Finlay is a transition player who is a big, mobile and a natural athlete while Killen is a right handed offensive shot who had a great Jr A career with the Peterborough Lakers”. “We lost Craig England this season to an eye injury and Mike Triolo moved to Edmonton so the focus has been on finding a quality young right handed shot to fill that void”.
Finlay, 6’3″ from Ottawa, is currently playing for the Saskatchewan Rush in the NLL will join the Kodiaks after the NLL season. Finlay played 3 seasons for the Jr A Lakers and contributed 31 points in 39 games. Finlay attends Trent University and is part of the Trent Men’s Field Lacrosse team.
In 78 games for the Jr A Lakers, the 5’11” Killen amassed 197 points. Killen is currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology in a lacrosse scholarship. Killen holds the single season record for goals at RIT with 70 which he set this season. The Kodiaks also get Ptbo’s 1st trade pick in 2019 and financial considerations.
The Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks begin their #RoadToTheMann on Sunday May 27th @6pm vs The Brampton Excelsiors at the Cobourg Community Centre. Tickets are available at www.cobourgkodiaks.ca
