Police Investigation Takes Down Alleged Cocaine Dealers – Peterborough

(PETERBOROUGH, ON) – On Friday March 9, 2018, the Peterborough County Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Peterborough Police Service Intelligence-Crime Analyst-Asset Forfeiture and Drug (ICAD) Unit concluded a three-month joint investigation that focused on illegal cocaine trafficking in the Peterborough area.

As a result of the investigation, five adult males, four from the Peterborough area and one from the Greater Toronto Area have been arrested and char ged with various drug related and drug trafficking related offences.

Following the arrests, police executed five search warrants: two in the City of Peterborough, two in the Peterborough County area and one early Saturday morning in the Toronto area. These search warrants yielded 4 motor vehicles, a high end watch, a quantity of Canadian currency and a significant amount of cocaine and prescription drugs that that were no doubt destined for area streets.

Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, exact locations and specific details are being omitted in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation and further details will be provided only as the investigation permits.

The OPP and the Peterborough Police Service are asking for the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation and would ask that anyone with information on this or any other crime to contact their nearest police se rvice.
