Traffic Stop In Clarington Leads to Weapon and Drug Charges
Three people were arrested and several charges laid after a citizen report of an impaired driver led to the seizure of a gun and drugs Saturday.
On Saturday February 17, 2018, just before 2:00 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle with three occupants on Temperance Street south of King Street in Bowmanville, after a citizen reported a possible impaired driver. The driver was arrested for operating the vehicle while impaired by drug. A handgun was located inside the vehicle along with a quantity of drugs. Two passengers were also arrested and all three face several charges.
Kory LYONS, age 31, of Whitby, Anthony JOHNSON, age 26, of Oshawa and Meghan ANDREWS, age 38, of Oshawa all face seven weapons charges including Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm and Careless Use of a Firearm.
LYONS is additionally charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance.
ANDREWS is additionally charged with: Operating While Impaired.
JOHNSON is additionally charged with: Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking; Fail to Comply With Probation Order (x2); Possession of Schedule II Substance (Marihuana); Possess Heroin for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possess Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. All three were held for Bail Hearings.
