Port Hope Panthers Edged by Picton in OT

Jack Dow scored 1:20 into overtime to give the Picton Pirates a 3-2 win over the visiting Port Hope Panthers in Provincial Junior Hockey League action Thursday night.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Pirates and Panthers traded leads in the second and third periods prior to Dow’s game-winner.
Oz Paziuk scored both goals for the Panthers after Picton’s Noah Brant opened the scoring 4:33 into the second.
Paziuk’s first goal tied the game 1-1 at the 15:05 mark of that middle frame before he tallied the go-ahead goal 41 seconds into the third.
Cole Stevenson evened the score for the Pirates in the eighth minute to conclude the scoring in regulation.
Pirates goaltender Nolan Lane made 33 saves in the win while Aidan Thompson stopped 34 shots for the Panthers.
The Panthers (2-3-1-0) return home to face the Napanee Raiders on Saturday evening, 7:30 p.m., at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.
The Raiders (6-0-0-0) remain undefeated heading into a Friday night match-up against Picton (4-1-0-0).
