Arthur’s Pub Cobourg sells Fundraising Dinners for Habitat Northumberland

In Upcoming Events

On Sunday May 23rd, Arthur’s Pub is selling dinners to help support Habitat for Humanity Northumberland. While this initiative is not exclusive to Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, it is certainly worth recognizing.

Since the advent of the pandemic nearly 18 months ago, not-for-profits and businesses have been searching for ways to connect with the community to seek support in a meaningful way. Restaurants have been hit especially hard as they have had to shutter their doors to in-person business throughout this time. Not-for-profits which have traditionally relied on events for their fundraising have had to pivot and rethink how to solicit donations from the community.

This is where the ingenuity from Arthur’s Pub really needs to be acknowledged. Starting in January of this year, they have worked with nearly 20 community organizations from United Way to sports clubs, to the Hospital and Northumberland Players to offer fundraising dinners to the public where $10 goes towards said charity.

“Partnerships like this really are a win-win for everyone. Local businesses see more customers and charities can meet their fundraising goals, which in turn creates a stronger community,” Executive Director Meaghan Macdonald explains. “Working together to come up with innovative ways to support one another is something really positive that we are taking away from all of the negative aspects of the pandemic.”

This fundraiser is available for pre-orders only, so make sure you place one well in advance of May 23rd.
