On Tuesday November 24th, Habitat for Humanity Northumberland announced that the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign was successful in raising $22,500 for Habitat Northumberland’s 22nd anniversary in 22 days! All funds raised through this anniversary campaign will be used to build affordable housing in Northumberland County. Habitat Northumberland launched the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign on November 1st, and concluded on November 22nd National Housing Day, to highlight the need for housing across Northumberland County and provide local businesses and individuals with a tangible way to help address some of that need.

The “22 for 22 in 22” campaign received support from local individuals, organizations and businesses who signed on to sponsor either a half day for $500 or a full day for $1,000 and new this year, Elite Sponsors who had dedicated weekends throughout the campaign for $2,500. This year’s Elite Sponsors were Acme Electric, Part-Time CFO Services & Local 397 The Carpenters Union.
The full day sponsors for the campaign were Schmidt Law Legal Services, Jacqueline Pennington Real Estate Broker, Stadtke Plumbing and Heating, The Cassells’ Family, The Stewart Family, Trenholm Parker Real Estate, CPS Wood Source, Meaghan Adams Legal Professional Corporation, Julie Parker, Spoolon Manufacturing, and two anonymous individuals. The half day sponsors this year were Lauria Auto Group & Lakeridge Chrysler. Additional support for the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign was provided by Robyn Mumford and Nancy Blakley.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of our local community,” said Meaghan Macdonald, Executive Director. “We saw many sponsors from last year return as sponsors again for this years’ campaign along with new businesses and individuals also stepping forward. With the whirlwind and uncertainty that has come with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are so thankful to announce that we have exceeded our goal. We are dependent on the donations from the community to build local affordable housing. The money from the “22 for 22 in 22” campaign will be used to continue to support Habitat Northumberland’s four projects currently in development, three in Cobourg and one in Bewdley.”
